| Features | Here is my 1976 Fairmont coupe, recently completed restoration about 6 months ago. I bought it as a daily driver, but when I stripped it down, it was ready for the crusher. It had about 35-40% rust and took me well over 1000 man hrs on the steelwork alone. The whole shell was stripped back to bare metal, new sections fabricated and fitted. I must stress that I am not in the steelwork or panel trade, but shows that anyone can have a go in your backyard shop. (Tip for those who may have a go...Lots of patience and an understanding missus.) Driveline..Fresh 351C (400hp)..Toploader ..Fresh 9" rear end..All disc brakes and all the GXL fruit inside. The straightening and painting was done by a local shop, and yes they stuffed it twice. The photos are mainly taken prior to licensing and one at the local show & shine car show in october last year. The total resoration took 3 years, using all of my spare time, and lots of patience |
